This post is all about my diversion into tech, how I started, the challenges and breakthroughs I experienced, and my journey in the technology world so far.

My background:

I graduated from Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos State, Nigeria. I studied Accounting and finance as my major in the polytechnic.

How I started:

On one faithful day back then in school, I was studying with my friends. There is this particular maths problem we are trying to solve. We tried severally on trying to get the answer but all to no avail. Then I went to meet one of my colleagues in the computer science department to assist us in solving the maths problem. Finally, he was able to solve it. Not only did he solve it, he even introduced me to an android app that is specifically developed for that maths problem. It’s just like robots being developed to solve some specific problems for us. I was excited when I tested the app and it worked as expected. I feel inspired and motivated. This literally means the future is technology. I also wished I can develop an app that can solve maths problems or even any problems that can be solved with just the application of technology. Then after I graduated and finished my youth service in march 2019, I got employed in a bank in Lagos. While I was working in the bank, I also realized that most of the applications we are using are developed by someone and I’m interested in building one too to serve their purposes to various users who need them. I worked in the bank for 4 months after which I resigned to enable me to get into the world of tech. I don’t want to keep working in the bank while I’m learning to program because I know learning programming needs full-time dedication and focus. So, I registered for 3 months of training in web development at FOFX academy. Their website is www.fofxacademy.com. These are the images of some of the projects I’ve tried to work on:

Disclaimer: These are not my designs or creations per se, but my attempts to see if I could challenge myself to employ two weeks of learning to replicate some web pages that catch my fancy.

My next post will be on the challenges and breakthroughs I experienced.
